TapaBoom is a free meme soundboard. Tap a button, the sound plays instantly — no sign-up, no watermark, and every sound can be downloaded as MP3.

What makes it different is the button itself. Every sound on TapaBoom gets its own generated squircle: a pattern, a hue, a lens and an overlay picked by an algorithm and baked into one crisp image, with a frame colour matched to the art. No two buttons look alike. You can also design your own in the button constructor, upload your own sounds (they get a button automatically) and collect favourites into soundpads.

Where the idea comes from

TapaBoom grew out of a childhood game called sekretiki — “little secrets”: you bury a shiny wrapper or a flower under a piece of glass and let someone find it. Every button here is that kind of secret: a small thing made with care, hidden in plain sight, worth uncovering. Who is behind it

TapaBoom is built and run by an independent developer, Peter Stolypin, since May 2026. It started as a UX study of the biggest soundboard sites and grew into a product with its own button-generation system, speech search (every sound is transcribed, so you can search by what is said in it) and an installable web app.

Where the sounds come from

Sounds are short clips that circulate as memes on TikTok, YouTube, Discord and similar communities, plus clips uploaded by users. All sounds belong to their respective owners. If you own a clip and want it removed or credited differently, use the DMCA / takedown page — requests are handled by a person, not a bot.
