Last updated: 2026-09-05. This page explains what TapaBoom (tapaboom.io) stores about you and why. The short version: you can use the whole soundboard without an account, and we store as little as we can.
Without an account
Playing and downloading sounds needs no account. Likes and soundpads you create as a guest are kept in your browser (local storage) and never leave your device unless you sign in and choose to keep them. Our servers keep standard access logs (IP address, browser type, requested page, time) for security and to count plays; logs are rotated and not used to build profiles.
With an account
You can sign in with Google or Discord. We receive and store only what is needed to run your profile: an
account identifier, your email address, display name and avatar. We do not get your password and we do not post
anything on your behalf. Signing in sets a session cookie (tb_session) so you stay logged in.
What you create
Sounds you upload, buttons you design and public soundpads are shown on the site under your username. You can hide a soundpad or delete an upload from your profile at any time.
Cookies and third parties
We use one first-party session cookie for login and browser storage for guest data. The site is served through Cloudflare, which processes connection data to protect the site. We do not run advertising trackers.
Deleting your data
Write to [email protected] from the email linked to your account and we will delete the account, uploads and profile data. Guest data lives only in your browser — clearing site data removes it.
Children
TapaBoom is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
